The Phi Phi archipelago is a group of islands that are located about 50 kilometers from Phuket, the journey to the archipelago takes about 2.5 hours.
The underwater world of Phi Phi is unique and diverse with its many dive sites (diving sites) with unique nature, diverse depths, underwater caves, picturesque corals, among which all kinds of sea inhabitants live, such as sea turtles, octopuses, moray eels, lobsters, cuttlefish, black-feathered reef sharks (which never attack humans) and many others ... Very often you can see numerous schools of yellow snappers that will not leave anyone indifferent, there is also a chance of rub a whale shark.
Since Phi Phi is a national park of Thailand (nature reserve), which is protected by rangers both on land and under water, diving is available only to certified divers. Accompanying friends and relatives can watch underwater beauties swimming with a snorkel and a mask on the surface.
Shark Point is a group of several underwater cliffs (pinnacles) that are located 25 kilometers east of the island of Phuket and are located from north to south at a depth of 25 meters.
During one dive, it is often possible to inspect only two pinacles, since due to the fact that Shark Point is located in the open sea, moderate or strong currents often prevail there and it is not always possible to get to the other pinacles.
There is a high probability of encountering dormant leopard sharks on a sandy bottom, between pinacles, peacefully because of them the Dive Site got its name. Due to the nature of the dive, Shark Point is only available for certified divers.
Anemone reef is an underwater hill, stretched from north to south, the lowest point of which is at a depth of 25 meters and the top at a depth of 5-6 meters from the surface of the water.
The name of this reef is due to the fact that the entire upper part of the Dive Site is covered with a colorful carpet of anemones. Anemones (or “anemones”) are sea animals that resemble soft corals, similar to underwater plants. But at the same time they are completely carnivorous.
Anemone reef dives are available only to certified divers.
King Cruiser is a car ferry 85 meters long and 25 meters wide. The ferry cruised between the island of Phuket and the Phi Phi archipelago.
On May 4, 1997, King Cruiser ran into an Anemone reef and got a big hole, as a result of which it began to dive rapidly. Fortunately, all the crew members and passengers were rescued; there were no casualties.
Now King Cruiser rests on the seabed, representing an excellent wreck (sunken object) for diving. For many years, the entire hull of the ship was surrounded by various soft corals and became the home and refuge for various schools of fish and sea creatures.
King Cruiser is a Dive Site that, due to its depth and periodically strong currents, is suitable for diving with certified divers, not lower than NDL UNIVERSAL DIVER, or diving as part of training on the NDL UNIVERSAL DIVER course or one of the specializations: NDL NITROX DIVER, NDL WRECK DIVER, NDL NAVIGATION DIVER, NDL DEEP DIVER, NDL DRIFT DIVER
Koh Dok Mai Island is located 30 kilometers southeast of Phuket Island and is a nearly rectangular rock with steep, steep walls that rises almost 30 meters above the surface of the water and goes almost as many meters under water. .
Koh Dok Mai, usually visited last, as part of a trip to Phi Phi, Shark Point, King Cruiser, and is a steep wall overgrown with corals, with many crevices in which all sorts of representatives of marine fauna inhabit. Also, the Dive Site has several rather large caves at a depth of about 20 meters, which can be visited by experienced divers.
